Hotel Review

Despite there being more cons than pros the room location made up for a lot and the fact that the wine came by the bottle and not chilled on tap. Pros Room 2019 was great for afternoon/evening sun (probably the best I've had for a while) and I was able to smoke on the balcony. Very sheltered too. All Inclusive meant I could order a bottle of wine with my dinner and take it with me to finish on the balcony later. Good location between Rubicon Marina and the port with lots of shops and bars nearby. Meals in the speciality restaurants were very good and I got to eat free in both (Italian and Japanese) on a 7 night stay. Cons Navigating the hotel was challenging, long walk to the lift. Restaurant and pool on floor 0 but no bar in the evening.  Bar and reception on floor 1 but no outside seating.  Outdoor smoking area outside the restaurant but uncomfortable chairs and no sun after about 1pm. Have been in better buffets, food just about ok but limited choices. Room clea...

Day 1 Orientation

Woke up to a still wet patio but the sun had come out bu the time I returned from breakfast.  I'd had a message from TUI saying welcome meeting at 10am. Cleaners came as I left and converted bed to double rather 👏 Got there a bit early and rep was talking to a guest, asked if I was in the right place and was told yes so sat down to wait. 10.20 rep still dealing with French guests, they left and another couple jumped in. Rep kept saying 10 minutes but it must have been close to 11 he finally decided to do the welcome meeting. As there was just me I can understand the issue but why did TUI say come at 10 rather than just tell me the reps timetable so I could choose my time. Anyway he was hopeless, didn't appear to know much about the resort or even have a lsit of trips taking place during the week. Found the ba k entrance to the hotel and headed down to the port. Few sprinkles of rain but nothing to worry about. Back at...

Getting There

Image
Great start to the day, Uber (£28) turned up early and I was checked in and outside with coffee within 30 minutes. Plane took off on time and I luckily had 3 seats all to myself. Sat in the window seat for the whole journey. Definitely worth paying for the extra legroom seat. Never been able to take pictures of bournemouth from the sir before and it was great Flight arrived on time but then the fun started. The queue to passport control was horrendous 😭😭😭😭. Multiple planes arrived at similar times and we all had to merge. Don't know if it was the new rules or not but seemed totally disorganised and chaotic. Took an hour and a half to get to passport control and boy did it regret not booking special assistance! But I did it 👏. TUI airport support pathetic, terrible directions to bus but I got there eventually. Because I was at the front of the plane I knew I was one of the first to get to the bus and probably waited about an hour before the b...
